Social justice advocacy group Empower Missouri had project completed in 10 days by graphic designer Amy Lang

In 2016 Creatives Without Borders were contacted by an organisation called Empower Missouri who needed some urgent help with designing a brochure for their annual conference where they educate their members and reach out to new people. In 10 days super graphic designer Amy Lang finished the job and had this amazing brochure ready for Empower Missouri and their conference.

“Our collaboration in 2016 with Creative Without Boarders was an exceptional experience. We are a small not for profit with only 5 total staff members, so partnering with a professional to develop our annual conference program an important step for us. Our annual conference brings together over 250 folks from all corners of Missouri along with some of our national organizational partners. The membership of Empower Missouri is over 4000 strong, so the collateral produced by our designer Amy went out electronically to all members.” AJ Bockleman, Assistant Director

This non-profit organization operating in Missouri (with their headquarters in Jefferson City) was founded in 1901. As a social justice advocacy group, Empower Missouri works to improve the wellbeing of Missouri’s citizens through civic leadership, research and education.

From the beginning, the organization has, on a statewide basis, been a forum for philanthropists, government employees of human services agencies and private charity professionals. In 1910 the organization became more active with its first legislative committee and with this they began advocating for changes in public policy to improve social conditions.

Every year a conference is held to educate members and attract new people to the organisation, discussing social justice issues facing the people of Missouri. The conference of 2016 had a focus on trauma and the multiple ways it affects both children and adults. Amy Lang designed the brochure, have a look at the results!

“The creation of our annual conference booklet had always been an in-house project. In partnering with CWB, we were able to elevate the quality of the production to a level previously not achieved. The professional look and feel continues to provide benefit as we plan our 2017 conference, since sponsors appreciated the professional and attractive way in which their information was provided. We look forward to our next collaboration!” AJ Bockleman, Assistant Director
